South Male Atoll, July 24th, Cocoa Thila

Back at Cocoa Thila for the sharks. Currents have picked up considerably and we mostly used our current hooks to stay in place. We spotted 3 sharks at the edge and fought against the current to get there, realized soon however that the more were at the other end of the Thila. So we drifted back, past a swarm of snappers on the rock front, crossed some eagle rays and along the ridge. Over the lower banks, but at our height, a good 20-30 sharks swam calmly into the current, drifted off into the blue only to show up again behind us.They swam by us at about 3-4m distance. A spectacular once-in-a-lifetime experience.
